FLORENCE, Arizona — “Nobody does,” Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu told Breitbart News when asked who has operational control of this region of the United States of America.
Babeu was on a helicopter tour of Mexican drug cartel scout locations in caves in the side of mountains throughout the desert about 70 miles inside the U.S. border. Essentially, that means U.S. sovereignty is gone for hundreds, perhaps thousands, of square miles throughout the American southwest. ∞∞∞∞∞ CLICK HERE FOR MORE »»»»
PHOENIX (Reuters) – A brown and black shorthair cat now named “Lucky” is one fortunate feline after managing to survive while trapped under water for at least an hour inside a sunken powerboat in Arizona.
“It’s really a miracle,” Dive Time Recovery owner Jon Zuccala, who pulled the submerged boat from a sandbar north of Lake Havasu City, told Reuters by telephone on Wednesday. “I would have named her ‘Eight’ because after all this, I’m sure she has used up one of her nine lives.”
Zuccala said he was called to the scene by authorities on Saturday afternoon to hoist the boat to the shore from the lake’s bottom. The boat was then towed to his shop where a mechanic went to work the next morning to flush out the engine. ∞∞∞∞∞ SEE MORE ∞∞∞∞∞
FLORENCE, Ariz. (AP) — A jail inmate in Arizona is hospitalized after authorities say he pulled one of his eyeballs out of its socket.
Sheriff’s officials in Pinal County, just southeast of Phoenix, say Colin Corkhill, of Scottsdale, was booked into jail Wednesday on suspicion of attempted murder, auto theft, aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
The 26-year-old was originally housed in a cell with other inmates, but detention officers saw him punch himself in the face, so he was placed in a cell by himself under a mental health watch. ∞∞∞∞∞ SEE MORE ∞∞∞∞∞
LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. (AP) — A trapped, hungry, wet and scared cat is now safe after it was found tucked away in a boat that had sank to the bottom of Lake Havasu.
Today’s News-Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1h31xlO) the brown-and-black American shorthair breed was found when the boat was brought ashore by Dive Time Recovery owner John Zucalla.
It’s unclear who the cat belongs to, if anyone, and Western Arizona Humane Society workers named the cat River. ∞∞∞∞∞ SEE MORE ∞∞∞∞∞
